Fasting – A Favour of Allah

Allah, by making fasting obligatory in this month, places a favour upon the Islamic ummah. He says in the Noble Quran says, “O’ you who believe! Fasting has been prescribed upon you”. In some narrations, it has been mentioned that fasting was not made completely obligatory upon previous nations in the month of Ramadhan but rather, it was only made obligatory upon the Prophets sent to those nations. Thus, the value of this favour [that has reached the ummah of Islam] must truly be appreciated.
