The wedding night
He was ready for the wedding. Ibrahim in his military uniform, and his spouse in a simple wedding dress. The leader of the Friday prayers of Isfahan recited the wedding sermon. The dowry for the bride included a copy of the Holy Quran, a copy of Nahjul Balaghah, and a small amount of money.
He brought his wife to the house that night… What a night! I was sitting with Ibrahim’s father and we suddenly heard Ibrahim crying. He was crying loudly. I asked myself, “What’s going on?” I asked my husband, “Why is he so restless?” Even he was surprised.
My patience came to an end. I stood up and went towards his room to find out what was going wrong…. I realized, he was busy with prayers and supplications. His wife was also busy reciting either Quran or supplications.
I held myself back, but I really wanted to burst in and tell him, “My dear son, please remember me as well in your prayers!” Until late at night, I could still hear him saying, “Forgive me, Oh Allah, Forgive me”
This was a story from the life of Shahid… Ibrahim Hemmat.. a young and active youth, who gave his all for Allah’s sake, and left this world as a shahid
