He should rest now…

It was the third day of Operation Khayber. Haji Hemmat had come back from the front lines for some work. We got a chance to ask him to lead the prayers. After the Zuhr prayer had finished, a scholar had joined the congregation. Haji requested him to lead the prayers. He accepted the request after a lot of insistence.

After the Asr prayers, the scholar took the opportunity to share some Islamic rulings to the congregation. As he started speaking, we heard a cry. Haji had fallen unconscious. He had fainted due to lack of sleep and fatigue. The brothers straight away took him to the medics. After a checkup, the doctor said, “Lack of sleep, exhaustion, poor diet has caused him to faint. He should rest now.” The doctor then inserted an IV drip…

After a while Haji regained consciousness. As he started feeling a bit better, he looked around and got surprised to see himself in a clinic. He wanted to get up. We went and stopped him from getting up. I said “Haji, have you seen yourself? Please take some rest and you can go after some time. Your body needs a break.” He said “No, not at all. I must definitely leave.” He then pulled out the IV from his hand and left.

This was a story from the life of Shahid… Ibrahim Hemmat.. a young and active youth, who gave his all for Allah’s sake, and left this world as a shahid
