The Nights of Qadr – Springtime of hearts
The occasion of Laylat al-Qadr is firstly an occasion of prayer, supplication and attention towards the Lord, since the month of Ramadhan, and in particular the nights of Qadr, is the springtime of humility, supplications, remembrance and the attention of the heart towards Allah.
Secondly, it is an opportunity for our hearts to become familiar with the high position of the Commander of the Faithful and to learn from him. Whatever can be said with regards to the virtues of the Month of Ramadhan and the duties of the righteous servants in this Month, the commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (as), is the perfect and complete example of it and the most prominent example of these virtues.
Remembering the commander of the faithful enables us to become familiar, to an extent, with this great personality. Whatever that has been said about him and everything that we have said and heard about him is very little and insignificant compared to the greatness of the position and the prominence of this great personality. We cannot truly describe his struggle, nor his efforts to become closer to Allah, nor the hardships and sufferings of his life, nor the greatness of the work that he performed in his lifetime.
